About Us
Established in 1984, for over 25 years Albany have been manufacturing sheds and timber garden buildings for the trade in Desborough, Northants. We now operate from two modern production facilities using the latest methods & machinery. Employing over 40 people we can produce thousands of sheds per year. We supply over 75 trade customers spanning from the Channel Islands of Jersey & Guernsey to the highlands & Islands of Scotland, with the comprehensive selection of timber garden buildings shown on this website. We provide regular bulk deliveries mostly using our own fleet of vehicles.
History
Albany were originally part of a fencing manufacturer called Leicester Fencing based in Kibworth, Leicestershire, who started to make weatherboard sheds (The Cottage – we still make it today!) to supply to their local trade customers. As the shed side of the business developed it became necessary to find new, larger premises to accommodate the growing order book. A site was found at a former ice cream depot in Desborough, Northants.
When the owner of Leicester Fencing retired, the business was divided up and sold and the manager of the shed division was able to buy his part of the business, which he still runs to this day. The name was changed to Albany Shed Co. Ltd (as the factory was on Stoke Albany Road) and over the years as our range of products and customer base expanded we outgrew our original factory. We acquired an additional site- the old Station Yard in the centre of Desborough (ironically, Leicester Fencing was also based in an old station yard).
We have gradually developed the site, adding additional manufacturing and storage space as well as a purpose built office building and display area.
